Summer is wet and rainy, and there is a high incidence of heavy rain. During the rainy season, the relative humidity of the air will increase greatly, and the goods stored in the warehouse are easily mold and deterioration. Many friends in the furniture industry will worry about how to store furniture in this rainy weather?
Because furniture is mostly made of metal products, wood products, leather goods, etc., the water content is very high, so once encountered rainy weather, furniture stored improperly in the warehouse will get mold. Therefore, we generally recommend customers to hang warehouse special container desiccant to reduce the humidity rate of your warehouse.
At the same time, storage of furniture in the warehouse requires attention to seal the basement as much as possible, the doors and windows of the warehouse, reduce the number of times to open the warehouse door, so that the container desiccant can worker better and consume less of the desiccant. These enviornment control procedure should be used for all other ordinary desiccants to get a better result.
Then, when furniture happen to be loaded for export in rainy weather, the amount of container desiccant should be added appropriately. E.g
- For mats made of hemp or cotton, put an additional desiccant in each container; for furniture with a humidity of more than 18%, an additional desiccant should be added for each 1% humidity.
- For furniture made of materials with more moisture such as rattan, palm and seaweed, it is recommended to add another desiccant to each container.
- Even the furniture products in the container and the packaging materials have every low water content, the container's humidity rate could still exceeds 20% because of the wooden floor. If this is the case, you need to increase the amount of desiccant in the original recommended amount according to the water content in the box. For humidity exceeding 20%, for every 1% increase in humidity, you need to add a corresponding desiccant. To ensure the safety of goods. Please do not use containers with wooden board humidity exceeding 25% to load furniture.
